Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about how Good Movies TV works? Whether you are a movie lover looking for your next favorite watch or an independent filmmaker wanting to join our network, you’ll find your answers here.
📺 For Viewers & Streamers
What exactly is Good Movies TV?
We are an independent, human-curated streaming network dedicated to showcasing high-quality independent films, documentaries, shorts, and episodic series. We skip the algorithms and hand-select every single title on our platform.
Where can I watch Good Movies TV?
Our official app is currently available live on the Amazon Fire TV App Store. Simply search for "Good Movies TV" on your Fire TV device, download the app, and start streaming. (Stay tuned as we expand to more devices soon!)
What is "The Good Standard"?
The Good Standard is our proprietary 5-star rating scale. Unlike big corporate platforms that upload content in bulk, we watch and grade every single title. A movie must earn a minimum of 3 Stars (Network Certified) to be featured on our app. If it’s not good, we don't host it.
Do I have to pay for a subscription to watch?
Our goal is to make incredible independent cinema accessible. You can download the app and stream our certified selections for free, supported by brief, high-quality ad breaks.
🎬 For Filmmakers & Content Creators
Can I submit my film to Good Movies TV?
Yes! We are proud champions of independent creators. If you own the legal rights to a feature film, short, docuseries, or episodic project, you can submit it directly through our Submission Guidelines page.
If my film is on Filmhub or another aggregator, can I still submit?
Absolutely. We operate on a completely non-exclusive basis. However, it is your sole responsibility as the filmmaker to ensure your project’s streaming availability (Avails) is clear and that you are not locked into an exclusive window with another network through your aggregator.
What happens if my film gets less than 3 stars?
If a submission does not hit our 3-star threshold, it will not be certified for distribution on our network. However, we respect the hustle of indie filmmaking—we will always notify you of your official rating privately.
What video formats do you accept for streaming?
At a minimum, we require 1080p Full HD resolution (.MP4 or .MOV files using H.264 or ProRes) with clean stereo audio. Closed captioning (an SRT file) is highly preferred for accessibility.
